Most of us, are used to eating canned tuna and already know that it takes less than 10 minutes to prepare a salad on any other dish with it, in that sense, canned tuna can be very convenient when you have little time to cook, but if we talk about taste, canned tuna is nowhere close to the real thing.
At Fantastic II Charters, we care that the food you take to your table is always fresh and of great taste. Here are two simple recipes to prepare the fresh tuna you caught at your latest sportfishing trip in Key Largo. We hope you like them!
1. Fresh Tuna Seared With Sesame
Fresh tuna is one of the simplest fish to prepare and most delicious, but unfortunately, not many people prepare it at home because because they don’t know how to prepare it, but as you will see, it is very simple.
Cut your tuna into 2 inches squares, add salt and pepper to your taste, coat with a little bit of olive oil, bread it with sesame seeds only on the side. Put them on pre-heated pan or grill for a minute on each side. Tuna tastes better if it’s raw on the inside, otherwise it will become chewy. Serve with the salad of your preference.
This wan work very well as an entry or the main dish.
2. Mediterranean Grilled Tuna With Cherry Tomatoes & Basil
Preheat the grill and lightly oil the tuna steaks with olive oil. In a grinder mix 3 cloves of garlic, 10 leaves of fresh basil, and a pinch of crushed red chili pepper.
In a separate bowl pour 5 tablespoons of olive oil and add the mixture in the grinder, add 2 tablespoons of wine vinegar, some salt and mix well.
Prepare your tuna steaks with sprinkling salt and pepper to taste and place them over the hottest side of the grill. Leave each side to cook for three minutes, remove from fire, transfer to a plate and pour some of the mixture over the steaks.
